Brewferm old Bruin

Hi All
I have a old Bruin which I made in the keg with 2 kits (2 kits make 24 litres) I put around 22 in the keg & bottled the rest, I made this as per instructions which was 2 kits 830 gms of brewers sugar & 830 gms of dark spray malt then for the secondary fermentation I added 200gms of sugar.

Now 200gms seems a lot to me but that's what the instruction said, It's been in the keg now for 5 weeks & is very sweet.
Question is, will the sweetness come out with more time as I know brewferm reccomend 6-8 weeks, or does it sound like a lost cause(apart from the sweetness it would be a cracking drink).

I made this kit a few months ago it gets better with age....put it away and forget about it and it will be good in a few months.....I never write anything off....time is a great healer
