Post by rick_huggins » Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:48 pm

Got some of these cheeky fellows and wanna make a light, hoppy, summer number any ideas?

Grain - Torr Wheat, Crys Malt and oodles of MO

Hops - Cascade, challanger, fuggles, bramling X, goldings and the above mentioned bobek hmmm

Yeast - S-04, US-05..

Done my liquor tonight with Tsp Gypsum, Tsp Epsom; hoping for a goodun

Saying that... I've by passed my matured Wherry & Nelson and am draining my 4wk old AG 1 (Pendle Witches Brew) BRILL! there aint such a thing is a bad All Grain is there?

I really enjoy my Lucky7 brew, substitute the Progress for Fuggles. I nicked the grain bill from Horden Hillbilly many moons ago and have brewed it loads of times to universal aclaim

I used a "fancy" yeast but it works equally well with S04 or Nottingham (I prefer nottingham if I'm using dried yeast)

I find Crystal and Cascade very similar in taste, Crystal is the slightly weaker of the two, 150g in a brew WOW i`d love to taste
that bugger, i brew a lager for the wife that just uses Crystal and to me it`s almost like a Blonde Ale but would just need about another
10 IBU`s to boost it to an Ale, but the taste is like a slightly weaker Golden Pipin (which is brewed with Cascade and Centenial) so i guess the
3 C`s are quite similar in taste, just that they go up in AA%
