Re: coopers stout ?
Oh yeah...
did ya go all AG?!
Just make it up as you go along... Stout can be really interesting as well as easy drinking
I'd bet that the Coopers Stout kits are just a combo of Dark Malts and Roasted barley, mildly bittered with something Aussie

Re: coopers stout ?
hi, mate not gone all grain but leanne with the sheep pic has commissioned a beer called "flockin ale" with her sheep pic on the front.got it brewed at bridestones brewery ,blackshaw head. dan the brewer has the pub up there the new delight his beer is very nice. regards the stout i have tried a few bottled and guests in pub but they all have that really burned taste which i personally dont like. so if we could replicate the very tasty coopers that would be good. going to call it "snout stout" and have a pic of pigs on the bottle...maybe ha.
been pointing my mate your directions as he wants to put his pics on some image banks, he will be finishing his job soon and being a house husband but a bit of money coming in would be nice, better on image bank hard drive than his i guess.

Re: coopers stout ?
The burnt taste comes from the black malt and is synonymous with Irish stouts. Just use a bit less of it.
Best wishes

Personalised beer eh!!
Posh!
I don't mind a bit of burnt (Roasted) flavour, not like fire burned or charred but roasted it adds to the levels of flavour.
Coopers Stout would be a good easy going brew to be AG though

There is a Recipe for Coopers Best Extra Stout in the book Clone Brews (the book also has a disclaimer about the recipes being made for home brewing by home brewers and excluding themselves from any legal action by the official breweries
)
Though it might be worth a try!
The recipe when put into Beer Engine comes out at 7%
