Hi,
I have been brewing all grain for a couple of years but would like to brew up some quick kits for christmas as well (due to lack of time for AG). I have been out the game for some time now and just wanted your opinion of what's worth trying. I like traditional english bitters the most but to be honest anything is worth a try (no lager or cider though). Any suggestions would be great as I want to place an order with H&G later today/tomorrow
Thanks

The york stone wall kit is a good one. It was one of the last kits i did before going AG and it was prob the best. Also the Tom Caxton real ale. A snip at £11 but better than a lot of the more expensive kits I tried. I did that one with Saf 04.
hope that helps

Hello,
i asked the very same question a couple of weeks ago and everyone told me to go for a Woodfordes Wherry (3kg kit), I primed it last night and the smelt loverly!
I've also done a Brewmaker Victorian Bitter (1.8 kg kit) as recommended by my lhbs.

I'd recommend any of the Woodforde's, York Brewery, Brupak's Pride of Yorkshire 3kgs no added sugar kits.
All these are obtainable from Hop & Grape.

I am re-hydrating the yeast right now for a Woodefordes Nelson's Revenge, quite a nice kit really if you help it along with some "hop tea" before bottling. I like to keep a no-boil kit in the cupboard for those odd days off of work, makes for a quick and easy brew day.

I'll second leedsbrew tom caxton real ale, am just half way through mine and find it a nice pint that doesn't taste like a kit.

They are a considerably lighter than a glass carboy and easier to clean.
