Hop Back Summer Lightning - Anyone tried this recipe?

Hi,

I have just made my 3rd AG brew from GW's book "Hop Back Summer Lightning" I know it's almost winter but it just sounded like a really refreshing beer.
Has anyone made this before, if so can you comment on how it turned out, I have never tried this beer in a pub either, so not sure what it is like.

The brewing worked out a treat, It's almost finshed fermenting already.

Summer Lightning is a JBK fave. Stick it in the search box and you will find many versions of it.
It's a good beer. You'll like it, even if it is no longer summer....

Light coloured, tangy sharp bitterness, deceptively strong. It is a beer that women who don't like beer will drink
I have just racked off a rather stronger version but it has all the right character.
If you like lighter beers, you should love it!!
(Try not to drink it all too early!!!)

Yup its my 5th AG. Just waiting till tomorrow night to bottle it...cant wait!!!

It's a good 'un.
even my mother in law and wife's aunt likes it.

my OH rates other beers against that AG#2 of mine now.
eg:
Q: "is the TTL going to come out like the SL - I liked that?"
A: "no, love, its another dark beer you dont like"

thing is, she's coming round to those now too

Chris and all, there really should have been a warning earlier in this thread:

Women like SL.
Drinking SL can lead to more extreme female drinking.
Stick with dark, heavy beers and you will have more for yourself.
Women who like beer are less likely to offer to drive...

Yeah - but SL is so tasty - the girls can't have it all to themselves! I should have made mine a bit more bitter with a few points higher starting gravity, but it slipped down very nicely. Re: Getting your other half into drinking beer - having a better half who's a good beer drinker, you do have slightly less objection to running a brew day.... (I have found, as others, that hefes/wits are especially popular... )
