Gales Festival Mild

Fellas,

Just racked a Extra Summit Pale Ale clone off of Wyeast 1332 and realized it was the proper yeast cake to pitch a Gales Festival Mild. After consulting BYOBRA, 3rd and Norman's Real Ale post I've got a couple of questions. GW's recipe has significantly more black malt, while Norman features more bitterness. Any suggestions for rectifying these discrepancies?

Size: 25 liters
Color: 65 HCU (~26 SRM)
Bitterness: 32 IBU
OG: 1.054
Grain:
4990g British pale
175g British crystal 70-80L
320g British black patent
88g Torrified wheat

Mash: 72% efficiency
Boil: 90 minutes
290g Cane sugar
Hops: 51g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 90 min.)
17g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 10 min.)

Size: 25 liters
Color: 38 HCU (~18 SRM)
Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.054
Grain:
4850g Maris Otter
165g British crystal 70-80L
168g British black patent
114g Torrified wheat

Mash: 75% efficiency
Boil: 90 minutes
280g Cane sugar
Hops: 64g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 90 min.)
10g EKGs (4.75% AA, 10 min.)

Looked over the descriptions over at Beer Advocate and they are all in agreement that the color almost verges on black. I'll go with GW on this one and follow his hop schedule, and go with Golden Promise. I shouldn't miss the MO in this rich a brew. Looking at the clock, I'm wondering if I can get this one in tonight?

I've found that with Pearl, the run off is always cloudier than MO was, thought I'd lost my technique! Never mind, only 20kg to use then back to MO.. :(

I'm drinking a pint of Wheeler's GFW as I read this. The beer the recipe produces is sublime, I doubt you will be disappointed.

I found Pearl malt fine - I didn't notice a cloudier run off but I did get better head retention with it. I got it free so no complaints but I'm back using Warminster MO.
