Just got home from work yesterday for my month off and paid a visit to the Hop & Grape this morning.
I made up a starter this afternoon and I'll be brewing this tomorrow.
Ingredients
2.90 kg Wheat Malt,
1.70 kg Smoked Malt
17.00 gm Pearle [8.00 %] (90 min) Hops 16.1 IBU
1 Pkgs Hefeweizen Ale (White Labs #WLP300) Yeast-Wheat
Estimated Original Gravity: 1.050
Estimated Final Gravity: 1.012 SG
Estimated Alcohol by Volume: 4.85 %
I'll try to add photo's of tomorrows brewday as I go.

Sounds good, it reminds me that I need to do a wheat beer soonish. I wonder how the yeast and smoked malt will meld in the finished product?

But I'm up and running now so here's the first pics.

Ingredients. Not much and it's a bit unusual/worrying using so small a quantity of hops. No danger of the hop strainer clogging this time though...... I hope.

Looking good matey! I wanted to try a smoked weisse at skipton beer fest but I....erm....over did it a bit on the ales so didn't get chance lol

Just the cleaning and clearing up left to do now (Worst bit of any brewday).

My method of fly sparging, primitive I know but it works for me.

All in all a nice slow deliberate brew day with only one hiccup. I have no idea where I have misplaced my hydrometer so I am trusting my gravities are what I was aimng for
