hot water?

When people fill up the HLT do you use cold water or hot water?I only ask as i had both my hot and cold water analyzed
and the both results were very similar.So i use the hot water which is around 60 degree c which takes 20 mins to get to get to mashing temp
Does any one else use their hot water supply?

With some (usually older) hot water systems, the hot water is fed from a partially open cold water tank in the attic.
Other systems use a header tank, again partially open.
Even older systems might still include lead piping.

If your system is sealed, you should be fine - I would not use mine!

If its a new combie types system then is just like a shower, it takes mains cold water and heats it so your ok.
