They all sound good and I doubt you'd go wrong with any of them, hope you don't end up with to longer a  Anyway thought I'd better brew this again and racked into the cornies yesterday, one of which will be bottled.

How did you like that one? I made 2 beers with it and they are pretty nice, only a bit too dry to my taste. But that depends on the grain bill as well as mashing regime as well, of course.
I don't think I'd use it for a bitter again.
I mainly used it for a bitter as I was making a Rye ESB after that and wanted to pitch on a yeast cake rather than bothering with starters etc.
I enjoyed the beer but I didn't get a lot of yeast character. That was ok in the ESB but I'd have liked a little more esters in the bitter myself.
I wouldn't rush out to use this one when there are so many good english yeasts around but I certainly wouldn't warn someone off using it...

Cheers

The Briars Best recipe by SiHoltye is the best ordinary bitter I've made. I did it for my first ever AG and it came out at about 4% and it was mega quaffable. Really should make me some more....

My mate asked me to do a session beer for his birthday. Now I have never made a low ABV beer so spent a while and came up with this (40 litres). Marris Otter 5.9kg, crystal 0.5kg. Goldings 1.25oz 60min, Fuggles 3.12oz 60 min, Goldings 1.5oz 10 min and a handfull of hedge hops at the end (my fuggles). Yeast was Windsor. It was a superb 1036 beer. In fact its so good that we have drunk half a barrel before the birthday! I was so suprised at how quaffable it is (without getting drunk) that I intend to have a barrel on tap all the time. I'm just going to up the gravity to 1040. Subsonic.
