Very First Extract Brew

Post by kirky » Tue Oct 12, 2010 5:24 pm

Hi Everyone,

I have made my first batch of hom brew using a youngs brewing kit (very simple)

I would like to have a go at extract brewing as I think this would be the next step, correct me if i'm wrong.

Would anyone have a very simple recipe and step by step instructions. I have a couple of books but it is all starting to scramble my brain the more I read!!!

Cheers,
Kirky

Good link that potatoes...

Kirky - Use extra light spraymalt and you may even get a better result, but to be honest, without the cold storage period your going to struggle to get something near enough to being called a lager.

Unless you are eventually going to move on to ales (or sort out some serious cold storage facilities) then I'd stick to kits for lager.
