Hi Hotmog,

I've seen a few posts mentioning these bargain cornies, how to they differ to the regular ones? I asked Norm a couple of weeks if he had any in and just gave me the price of regular ones (and they've gone up quite a bit since I brought two earlier in the year!).

Cheers,
Jamie

To quote this mornings reply to email:
CURRENT "A" GRADE KEGS ARE £45 EACH + £10 P&P = £55 OR TWO FOR £103 COMPLETE WITH DISCO,S AND PIPE
BARGAIN KEGS [DENTED ] WHEN AVAILABLE ARE TWO FOR £65 BUT ONLY ONE SET OF DISCO,S
CaPsLoCk is always stuck ;) New ones are £5 more than about 12 months ago. Though i bet this thread is drumming up Normal some business, by the time I want a couple of Bargain's he'll have sold out!

might risk it for the next summer bbq.
Check out the beers we have for sale @ Mix Brewery

I have 6 cornies. I do also have a big one as I converted a SS keg to corny disconnects which makes it 50 litres :-) Sub

I seem to remember a huge cornie on eBay not so long ago. Maybe 38 litres?

Well look what just turned up :D

Image

I just happened to notice Norm list 4 lots on EBay last week, he must have been watching this thread  :D

They are not much more battered than my others to be honest, just some dinks around the top of the steel. Dodgy looking lid lock on the one on the right though, it's quite loose- will see if it seals at low pressure when i give them a bl00dy good clean out (not with beer line cleaner though)!

I think that'll be my lot now. I can get two in my conditioning fridge, leaving two ready to swap over and two for long term conditioning / emergency party standby!

Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie, one of my eight have a lid similar to that, I was quite dubious as it is very slack when there is no pressure, but it is one of my best sealing cornies I have. I always pressurize mine up to 20-30 psi after filling, this usually seals them, I leave it like that for a few days to carbonate, then I drop it down again for serving. But you already knew that bit.

Worse scenario, you'll need a new lid, and I'm sure you can get them for around £10-12 from Candirect, there may be other places.

I have 4 x 19ltr, 2 x 11ltr and 2 x 9ltr.

Enough for me to play with but if I bought any more it would be another pair of 11ltr.
