Therefore, I wouldn't worry too much.
That said, I tend to use a spinny sparger with water at 78C...... at least, until I hear another theory that makes sense to me....

I have not tried sparging at these low temperatures and I have never tried a mashout. I heat my water to 80 degrees and the bed temp. is variable around 70 degrees. My efficiency was 90 to 95% sparging down to 1.006. However, i have lowered my efficiency to 85% which allows me to stop sparge at 1.010. Just means i add a little more grain.Q. Do you perform a mash out first ?
Q. What kind of efficiency do you get with your 65 degree sparge ?
