Hello
today I brew again I have made a few mods with my RIMS and just want to try them out.

I shall be brewing the following

3kg Pale Malt (from the chaps at Crouch vale)
200gms Torry Wheat
200gms Crystal Malt

RIMS at 63º

Hops;
50gms Fuggle for 60
20gms Golding last 15
Yeast:
Danstar's Windsor

19ltrs of 1040 in the bin :D

False Bottom/dome and the wirlpool worked very very well and the hop filter only let seeds in but thats ok my pump can deal with that it dont like hops much, all in all bloody good day.

Pics to follow very soon
FYI I have changed my False Bottom, recirculation manifold to a Wirlpool ( bit of Armorvin pipe in the mash tun) and Hop filter in the Copper.
So far looking nice :)

Quick tester and apart from the condition this beer is ready to drink it has almost dropped bright all but a few clumps of Windsor knocking about, It has a great sweet toffee caramel nose, mouth feel is not a thin as I expected it to be at such a low mash temp, its then the hops throw a blanket of bitterness over your tongue that drys and then sweeps back to malt,
then comes the faint taste of dougnuts like those you get from the seaside ( well down my seafront anyhow, im sure most seasides have a doughnut stall that make the same(ish) just over done doughnuts with hints of vanilla).
as for a session beer, it packs more of a punch than expected but think that is short lived, we shall see as I decided to pur out 2 large jugs as a tester, just asked a visitor to explain the tasted who skipped the Smell and apperance and went for the drinking part and came back with the Doughnut taste.
I'd say so far so good and its only 5 days old
