buyng shiney from eBay France
Re: buyng shiney from eBay France
Ok pots arrived to day after sitting dpd depo in Belfast for a week or more, I went for the 100l ones with a 70l thermos pot,and I was hopeing to use gas for the boil but bottoms look a bit light for gas to me, anyone have any thoughts on this or advice on using gas.

Fine for gas. Only a problem if you have no liquid when you heat it...

Thanks for that capper20, now to get on with the build.

Can anyone give me the inside diameter of the 33l thermopot? Want to get together the bits for a false bottom before I can order them.

Happy days. My pot arrived about an hour ago.
Time to get the scale out and weigh some ingredients for tomorrows brew day

I have three 33l Thermopots on the way to me!
I decided to go for a complete thermopot build rather than the stock pots.
It means I can install everything in the bottom, and still have them sit normally on the floor.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the stockpots (not thermos) from this supplier?
Is the base thick enough to avoid burning the contents (I'm thinking of stews as well as brews)?
Are the handles likely to stay attached to the pot after several years use?

I would say no, I don't move mine with anything in it , but it is pretty thin metalbackpain wrote:Can anyone comment on the quality of the stockpots (not thermos) from this supplier?

I can't comment about the durability yet but the material is a lot thicker than my old and cheap 15 ltr Buckingham pot that I've had go use for a few years. I'm more than happy with the new one. the handles are spot welded, 12 to each handle compared to 4 pop rivets on my older pot. I'd happily buy one again if needed

Re: buyng shiney from eBay France
Hi,
Im looking to buy a 3 pot set (2x 100ltr + 1x 70litre thermo), was just wondering it it worth buying another 70ltr thermo pot to use as a FV? or for the extra few pounds should i purchase the 80L thermo pots?
Also i know its been asked/mentioned in previous posts but do the thermo pots come with taps fitted?
Have been brewing kits for a while now so thought it was time to join the big boys and if i going to do it may aswell go shiney straight away.
Cheers

Bigcat, I would question the use of a thermo pot as a FV, if you plan to use it in a fermentation fridge a normal un insulated pot would serve you better for heat / cold transfer. I believe the 70 ltr pots do come with a tap the 80 ltr one do not.
Cheers
