Caustic Soda - finding locally?

Post by Kev888 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:33 pm

Does anyone know if any of the drain cleaners found in the usual local supermarket/DIY-shed/wilcos type places are a good source of caustic soda for homebrew cleaning? (obviously with 'great' care).

I'm stuck at work at the mo and frustratingly the websites tend not to say what their ingredients are; if its anything like thin bleach I'm guessing the bottles may not help much either..

Cheers

Thanks! I'd not considered Boots but you're dead right; think they've got a place in an out of town shopping center close by, so that would be great.

Thanks! Yes i'm sorted now but B&Q would be good for the future. I also noticed some in asda recently, but I visit B&Q more often.
