going to brew this next week what do you guys think?

25 litre batch
OG 1053
ABV 5.5%
41 units of colour
28 EBU

MARIS OTTER PALE MALT 5550 gms
BLACK MALT 116 gms

HOPS boil time 90 minutes

PROGRESS 53 gms

Add 10gms Styrian Goldings last 15 minutes

muntons gold yeast. (all i got in)

wont be using any other malts because this is a user-upper. does it sound ok?

i might end up making more or less depending on whats in the sack!

what does caragold add to the beer and how much can you use upto. i have a kilo liking around somewhere. thinking of adding some to this. i have used it before only small amounts so not really sure what it actually does

I've used the Gervin yeast,which is supplied by Muntons,I was very happy with it,it's supposed to be Nottingham AFAIK

good. thanks mate. mash is on...... problems already christ even before the mash wash on.... my small tun as a split in and was leaking when i was warming it up. gutted i am it was a awesome tun never had any problems with it. i was using it for my smaller brews and a bigger one for the rest. never mind. mash on 1 hour to go

Did the brewday turn out OK Alfie? I've tasted several beers made with Muntons Gold and they've been superb.
