Recovered yeast starter culture!

Post by Reg » Tue Dec 20, 2005 9:52 pm

Well things would appear ot be working. There's now plenty of activity in terms of fizzing and the "wort" has a nice, yeasty cloudiness. I think I'll let it have 48 hours to multiply as much as possible then put it in the fridge to keep things preserved for the next batch. ;)

Well a good three day later the culture has made the fridge. From a gentle haze, there is now a 2mm deposit of yeast on the bottom of the starter bottle... :D

It would appear I have success!!! :) :P :stun :beer

So, we're developing some good yeast skills among us!

Well, I think it's an area that we could work on. I've made one 79p sachet of yeast stretch to three brews including recovering live yeast from one of the brews. :D
