Will do Reaper, Ive got a recipe in front of me here to try for the same ale;
3000g Lager malt
300g Wheat malt
150g Xtal
250g Malted oats
2000g Pale malt.

Challenger 22g @ 75mins
Hallertauer Hersbrucker 54g @75mins
Styrian Golding 39g @10mins
Hallertauer Hersbrucker 22g @2mins
Styrian Golding 64g @2mins
32 litre boil.
I got this recipe from a former CBA member who brews it regulary he sometimes add's 250g of acid malt to the mash.
Im going to give them both a try,Im not a big fan of bottling ales or using kegs. Ill shall serve up in pin casks, my mouth is watering just at the thought! :lol:
Ill let you know.
Cheers Steve, Burton on Trent

I had a good five or six pints of bitter and twisted tonight. The first thing that strikes me is the Styrian goldings character, to me that smells like lemon merangue pie. Plenty of those hops in the last 10 minutes should do well. Apart from that some pale (golden promise?) as the base should do well.

Remember it's a session beer though, I would design it around 1.038 with 25-30 IBUs, base malt with some wheat, plenty of styrian goldings.

Hi Slurp, if you want to try the original the bottle version is generally available in supermarkets. It has quite a pronounced lemony flavour to my taste. I made a b&t clone about a year ago, similar to that listed below (except with only pale malt) and it turned out great :wink: IMO
