I have only added enough to give a nice colour and a very subtle taste. I don't want it to be very noticeable...

I have had a small taste and I think it was just right - saying that it hasn't been in long and was mainly juice so I expect the taste to get stronger, but hopefully not too much :)

Having taken the OG of my beer (1.042) and estimated a pint of cherry juice (gravity 1.064) I have worked out that the OG of my beer is 1.043 (I assume that you take the calculation as though it hadn't fermented).

When I first added the juice and cherries, my gravity reading jumped from 1.007 to 1.010.

Today I have taken a reading and it is 1.016.

So, how do I factor in the fruit itself and work out my ABV?

There was approx 1.5kg of cherries.

Thanks :D

Which gravity reading ? If your beer is now at 1.016 then it's increasing in gravity

Beer started at 1.042
Fermented to 1.007
Added Cherries and it increased to 1.010
Took a reading today and had increased more to 1.016

I added 1.5kg of cherries to about 32 pints of beer (I had poured 6 pints into bottles for comparison). Since I had frozen the cherries, when they t hawed, a lot of juice came out. I estimated about 1-2 pints @ 1.064 gravity.

So, with all this info, how can I tell what my gravity readings should be and what the ABV will be?
