Pale Ale comments!
Re: Pale Ale comments!
Looks lovely, though I wouldn't bother with 45 & 30 minute additions - I don't think they add much in the way of flavour or aroma. You'd get more bitterness utilisation by bunging them in at the start. And I'd merge the 15 & 10 minutes into one load. But you know what opinions are like...
Funnily enough it's not too dissimilar from what I'm doing today for my first AG brew:
Pale 4.85 kg
Torrified Wheat 150g
Medium Crystal 100g
Challenger 56g 90 min
Golding 14g 10 min
Fuggle 20g Flame-out
OG 1.046
FG 1.011
IBU 36
Notty yeast (Got my first liquid WLP002 in the post, but can't wait)

Re: Pale Ale comments!
I agree with stitch on the hops. I find that one addition at the beginning for the bulk of the bittering then more hops at 5 or 10 mins from the end and a last load at flameout for aroma works well for me.

Re: Pale Ale comments!
Personally i would lose the hocolate and stick with and stick with pale crystal and wheat. Maybe add a little carapils.
I always make pales with only 2 hops these are start of boil then at 10and 5 minutes.
all personal preferences really.

Re: Pale Ale comments!
The chocolate was going in purely as it was left over in the cupboard.
I went with hops at 60, 45, 30, 15 and flamout (not bothering with dry hop now), if id read these comments before i might have altered it but we will see now, all in all wasnt a bad brew day.
