I'm with you on that one, the only decent kit my local wilko at Boston Lincolnshire stock is Woodefordes Wherry and at 22 quid even that's expensive.
I have to get my home brew supplies on line which gives me a great choice, but costs me more because of carriage charges. (unless I buy a vast amount all at once)

My nearest one has coopers kits in so it's not all Muntons... Unless Muntons are the UK suppliers of Coopers... They should also be putting DME on too if not in the shop but to order online to store for collection...

Just got back from my local wilko in Sutton and the only homebrew stuff they had goIng cheap was the brew buddy brewing system for £5(couldn't really say no to that especially as everything was in it) and the youngs definitive lager for £2(again couldn't sayno to that, kind of wish I only brought 1 tho) they have quite a lot more range on there shelves now including some wilko 2can kits and some different ciders...

Also just got back from local wilkos, having picked up bin end Youngs definitive lager and John Bull lager for 2 quid each... will Toucan these to 40 pts . Had a quick nose at new range.. Coopers stout, lager and real ale, normal Geordies plus their winter warmer(tempting!) plus some brews in wilkos own packaging £10=£12. Muntons spraymalts at £4, brew sugar £2 kg, basic range of finings campdens etc as before think i also saw some Gervin. So IMHO an improvement by wilkos and despite prices being cheaper on net at least no postage charges!!
Just like trying new ideas!

I noticed they now have their own range of premium kits for £22. Seems a bit steep for an own brand product to me? Coopers stout £13, my LHBS has that for £12.45 so would rather support them. Nothing really to tempt me but I am lucky to have LHBS literally a few 100yds away so I am spoilt.

Don't feel guilty, mine is only 17 miles away, there are still whole countries without them.

I often try new kits and often feel the yeast lets them down so can't be bothered to use the kit yeast any more unless the fermenting instructions ask for 16c or lower. Andover's shop sell seperate yeast sachets, shame it's all ale

Ive done a few of them to caxton kits recently and have had some good results from them.. the beer is quite nice especially with the hop addition! my only minus would be the AGE it takes them to clear in the kingkeg

What sort of length of time are you finding they need?

Just been to Lincoln Wilkinsons (their brewing and kitchen range has just been updated) and it would appear lots of new own branded wine and beer kits have appeared next to own branded equipment and ingredients....
I bought an elderflower wine kit and will report back once brewed.....wined....etc

My local has the new stuff in already, still has some of the old kits but all still at full price

Noticed one of the new £10 kits was quite beaten up so considering going back in and trying to get something off it for damaged goods.

Some of the old kits (eg some Geordie kits) are in the new range so were never reduced
