What do you bitter with?

Post by alwilson » Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:56 pm

Morning All,

Just a general poll really, purely out of interest.

What do you guy typically bitter with? I've been using the same high AA @ First Wort for a while now, US Warrior in particular, and quite like its qualities as a FW Hop.

So, to the forum, what do you do?

Alex

+1, though I like Cluster, Challenger, Crystal, and Centennial a lot too. When I have a ton of homegrown Cascades, I'll use them for bittering too.

P.S. here's another great thread to cross-reference viewtopic.php?f=11&t=54269#p570730

Thats not a bad philosophy,I'm starting to belive ,bittering is bittering no matter what hop you use...obviously in the right quantities  it was after reading, an article by the sharps head brewer. I just thought I would choose a hop that was proven and stuck with it .

Magnum, inexpensive, neutral and you don't need too much of it.
In or near Norwich? Interested in meeting up monthly to talk and drink beer? PM me for details.

I was using Apollo. At 19.5 it didn't need much. Very economical.

Now I use whatever is there.
I buy from The Malt Miller

Challenger, Progress, Fuggles, Northern Brewer, Goldings sometimes, Target occasionally (cheap, but not that nice IMO).
