popes head

Post by ColinKeb » Thu May 17, 2007 9:45 am

just started a barrel of eldrige pope royal oak and it tastes good, one weird thing though is that the head is sort of dryer than normal. out of the tap its smooth and creamy then as it settles the top forms a sort of very faint crust :? no bad taste to it , has anyone else had this ?

The only time I have had the head form a crust is when it sticks to the side of the glass and dries. Never had it like that on top of the drink!

it maybe because the first couple of pints were all foam so i had to leave them to settle , maybe the head dried a bit during that . tastes okay though :D
