Think that one went straight over Barneeys head looking at his innocent reply haha.
I know but I decided not to push it any further. I'm always wary of too much inuendo amongst strangers.

I`ve now taken the plunge and have ordered another timer, have cut the hole + changed over the lighhting arrangement.

Just have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the thing to arrive

Yet another updated pic...

EDIT have also straightened the black hinge lock thingy

I`ve been messing around with the labels today and due to a few design changes since I originally order them I will need somemore. Still messing around with positions etc.

Anyway I dont have a HERMS pot anymore so if anyone is interested in them let me know.

Should your Ampere meter be an Ammeter?

;) you say tomato :?: Might just make it Amp Meter, unsure tho.

Anyway another slight modification, I have a few other pieces of equipment that I plug in during the brewday so I thought I might as well add a couple of more sockets for 240vac supplies to keep everything tidy. (Just as well I run all the main supply wiring in 6mm)

Another small update, to try and get things a little more symmetrical on the panel, I`ve decided to add another couple of items, this time a clock (bottom central) and a air thermometer (middle left). Will have to repolish etc the front face and wait for the items to arrive.

I have now drilled my last 3 holes, 2 at the bottom for the normal power plugs and 1 final one in the front panel (bottom left)

Image

I will move the existing keyswitch down to this new postion to control the normal power plugs and fit a new "key operated panic stop" button in its place, everything now is as symmetrical as I can get it.

Just hope I dont think of anything else to add.

Cheers

How about a big stobe light and siren for the top when you push that button :D

Just catching up with this thread and it's looking good. That wiring looked very time consuming.

:) A siren might be a little over the top, although in the Summer Time I will night time brew, due to the daily temps be high, so a nice blue police strobe light would at least give the neighbours something to think about.

Looking back on the build at the moment, cutting the box was quite straight forward (although difficult in thick stainless), sourcing the components was time consuming and having to wait weeks for the stuff to arrive is a pain.

But your right the wiring is very time consuming and its something I havent done for over 20 years, yet its strangely addictive hence the continuous additions. The most difficult bit was having the box in two parts (main box and lid), wiring the two separately and then finally wiring between the two and remembering what had / had not been done.

The most useful page on "theelectricbrewery" website is the FAQ 240 supply, everything needed is on the one page.

I`ve sent Kal from the electric brewery a link to this page (+ have posted the build on their website) + if I have time, it could be useful to others to list the UK part numbers etc used for the build, albeit some of the components were 1 off ebay items. It might be painfull to price the UK parts as well to see what the true cost is

Still open to any other suggestion, did think of a scrolling LED display for extra bling / brewday operation reminders, although BS2 does that for me.

Cheers

You're right on that one. The Chinese new year didn't help with all the shops taking 2 weeks off.

Best not to do this one....i stopped logging components when i hit the £350 mark  .

Well i'll not have this problem with total lack of space left in my box. I thought a 400x400x200 box would be ample but it turned out to be quite tight. Will have to go bigger if i ever do a MK2.

A quick preview picture of mine before i do my own write up. The only real design change i made were the pump controls which i "borrowed" from your panel. The tags are not straight as they are not stuck on yet.

Image

I'm still not sure about that reset button though. Doesn't quite look right...

Looking good Kev, you might be right about the reset, mine does sit a bit lower than yours.

I`m liking the variable power tags, very swish. Also I think I prefer the layout of your pump supplies, mine were abit of an after thought having already cut the holes for the lights and switches I didnt have much choice.

I`ve ordered 10 white LED lights, i was going to change the HLT / RIMMS from yellow to white, so if you wanted a couple of white covers let me know.

As for a MK2 version  your a braver man than me 1 is more than enough. I`m fairly sure once everything is up and running your find room in there for a few extras :D

Looking forward to your write up.

Cheers

Kev if you dont mind me asking... How much did your panel cost? I have panel I planned on repurposing but I'm worried it's not big enough. I'd like a panel like Clives but stainless panels are :o :o :o expensive
