Brilliant and cool looking! Never really thought of using pallets. I get tons of these at work and bring them home in the summer to chop up for the fire pit table in the garden!!! Guess what I'm doing this weekend =D> =D> =D>

Love the pallet look Baarney. Plus putting the uprights inside makes them look neater.

Any idea how you could make them stackable using your design?

i'm thinking that a few modified bushell boxes would satisfy the rustic criteria. got plenty just lying around on the farm going to rot.. not used so much these days, although they're worth a few quid in vintage shops as magazine racks or i don't know what i hear. can't think of the height measurement off the top of my head, but i'd have thought they'd be fine. would be perfect for cider, but i reckon they'd look dandy with ale in too..
dazzled, doused in gin..

Yep if you look at your photo for the trappist one you will see the end uprights actually go past the height of the crate at the top & fall short at the bottom, so although I reversed the ends on my build (to get more bottles in) if you constructed them exactly the same as the 1st lot of intructions I followed but raised the two end upright it would work.

I`ll have another play around with the second I built over the weekend and post a pic when finished.

Failing that just put an upstand around the top of the box or just at the 4 corners.
