Who is and who is not
I've come to the conclusion today that i,m not a hop head I, have been trying various bottled beers with the wife and most of them have been to bitter except bitter & twisted, badger champion.Today I tried TTL and I thought it was awful, sorry to all you fans out there, also I have a badgers england's gold to try in about 10min,chilling at the mo.
So who's a hop head and who's not.

Interestingly, Graham Wheeler suggests that English bitters have up to 50 EBUs and Yorkshire bitters have 35 EBUs. However, he then lists a whole pile of bitter recipes in his book that contain less than 30 EBUs.
My view is that in recent history our tastes have changed and Britain's brewers have responded by producing less bitter beers than our forefathers drank. My son tends to drink bitters in the pub but struggles with any of my beers that are above 25 EBUs. My wife and I personally prefer beers in the region of 35 EBUs

I'll have to go for hoppy beers, really loving the styrians in my TLC-Twist at the moment, looking forward already to the Styrian Stunner I made today.
I've got a larger lover (not that there is anything wrong in that) coming to stay in a couple of weeks, think I can persuade him to enjoy a nice light pale ale.

I go through different moods, sometimes I want malt, sometimes I want hops, my favourite beers are the ones that manage to strike exactly the right balance between the two. I don't like beers that are sweet, but if you've got a complex malty beer like an 80/- or a porter, you usually get that bit of extra bitterness from the darker malts.
