As you can see from my sig, I need a session brew to go into a keg.

I'm thinking of a Fuggled Session Wherry

1 x can of Wherry
12L Brewlength (equivalent to 24L full brew)
10g of Fuggles Leaf Hops 5.0% AA boiled for 10mins
10g of Fuggles Pellet Hops added to the keg in a mini mesh bag (courtesy of a Festival kit)
Coopers Ale Yeast
Ferment @20C

Hopefully it'll end up at around 3.5%

All bottled up on day 19 and batch primed at 3.5g/L.

Tasted like fruity toffee and looked like muddy water in the clear bottles!

I'll reserve any kind of judgement on this one for a few weeks.

I have tried a bottle of this tonight and although it isn't fully clear yet, I'm quite happy with how it's tasting after a month in the bottle.

I tried a little taster bottle a couple of weeks ago and it was still muddy and dry - not nice!

The best way to describe the colour is like coca cola, infact SWMBO thought that I had poured myself a pint of JD and coke.

What is clear, is that the small amount of chocolate malt has added colour and nothing else, which is actually a good thing because I can still taste the Wherry in there. The Brewers Gold hops have added a heightened citrus edge to the finish that seems to blend well with the Wherry hopping.

All in all I'm pretty happy with this so far.

Just got this brew on!

Changed it slightly and went for a 12.5L brewlength, 15g of Fuggles in the boil and will be fermenting with a 7g sachet of yeast left over from a Coopers Aussie Bitter kit that is a mix of ale and lager yeast @19C.

Got an OG of 1.036.......perfect :-)

My mind is obviously always thinking about ale recipes, as this idea popped into my head this morning for my 3rd cheap Wherry brew

I've got various odd hops, dme and dextrose to use up.......

Wherry IPA

1 x can of Woodfordes Wherry
250g of Light DME
250g of Dextrose
10L Brewlength (with treated tap water)
15g of EKG hop pellets boiled for 15mins
12g of Celeia (Styrian Goldings) steeped for 30mins from 80C
25g of Celeia (Styrian Goldings) dry hopped from day 7

I'm not sure what yeast to use yet, maybe S-05 for the full hop experience.

Due to holiday prep tomorrow night, I've kegged the Wherry tonight on day 13 @1.008 with 50g of priming sugar (4g per L).

I am also now dry hopping in the pressure barrel with 10g of Fuggles hop pellets that are in a small fine mesh bag, that came in my Festival Pilgrims Hope kit. The pellets also have a large marble for company to keep them weighed down.

Fuggles hop depth charge!

Yesterday put on the wherry to full brewlength, slight modification by using a west coast ale yeast cake plus kit yeast. Gone off like the clappers! Will rack to two smaller fv for secondary, and mess about with different dry hopping. Like the fuggles idea with priming..not seen that method before

The Fuggled Session Wherry is finally fully clear after 6/7 weeks in the keg.

Still a bit confused as to why it took so long, because it was brewed with Coopers yeast that normally drops clear very quickly?

It's got a decent body and is full of flavour for a 3.8% bitter.
