Buxton Brewery - Axe Edge
Re: Buxton Brewery - Axe Edge
I'm a big fan of Thornbridge too, but I think Buxton may be out-doing them a little. Perhaps it's a matter of scale, Thornbridge are brewing on a much larger scale, I suspect, for a wider market now. All great beer though.
Re: Buxton Brewery - Axe Edge
I think Buxton probably do outdo Thornbridge in terms of the ratio of good beers to brilliant ones. And Buxton probably produce THE best bottled beers going - for hopheads at least.

Re: Buxton Brewery - Axe Edge
Well, obviously it looks good to me. Did you end up brewing it last weekend?
Re: Buxton Brewery - Axe Edge
Hi Seymour,
It's being brewed this weekend, my first brew for 6 months. I'm now brewing in an area with high sulphate levels in the water (being pushed even higher by the use of CRS), so have reduced the IBUs from your recipe to try and stop it tasting to harshly bitter.

Bump.
Don't mean to bug you, but just curious if you brewed your Buxton Axe Edge clone, and if so, how it's coming along?

Hey Seymour!
This has been brewed and went into the bottle at the weekend. The sample tasted very promising! I had trouble siphoning (it was my first time dry hopping 'loose') so I'm not sure if that is why it was so cloudy or whether it was due to only being in the fv for 2 weeks. Once its carbonated and matured a little I'll report back on taste.
