What to buy in the US

Post by och29 » Tue Jul 23, 2013 4:51 pm

This is a bit of a terrible question but I'm ordering a few things from the US which are going to be consolidated into one shipment by a forwarding company. Considering I'll have a bit of spare space in the box(s) is there anything that I should order? I'm thinking of the awkward little things that would be really useful but isn't worth the cost of shipping! I'm currently in the process of building a 100l electric AG setup.

Not cheap items or lightweight but, pumps are always a good bet, also have a look at the morebeer and brewers hardware sites for lots of nice stuff.

Have fun shopping.
Hair of the dog, bacon, butty.
Hops, cider pips & hello.

Name the Movie + song :)

Corny Kegs. Perlick Taps would probably have a good resell value too.

Victory Malt

Plus, as mentioned, hops are relatively lightweight and inexpensive. It sounds like you guys have to pay a lot more for US hops such as Simcoe, Chinook, Ahtanum, Centennial, Amarillo, El Dorado, Falconer's Flight, Citra, Mosaic, etc. Not that I'm recommending them over your own fine specimens, mind you.

If you can score a couple brown glass 1/2 gallon growler jugs, it sounds like that'd make you the the envy of your countrymen, too. :)

I agree with Perlick taps. Mine cost me quite a bit with all the postage but they were worth it. Even more so if you can save on postage.

All great ideas, keep 'em coming. Will definitely be getting some hops.
