Initial Fermentation

Post by carllancaster1977 » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:35 am

Quick question to the people in the know...

Got some Cider going at the moment, about to transfer into keg with priming etc, however its been in the fermenter for a while.

Can it be in the fermenter too long?

If im going to leave an ale/cider for long in fermentation i shut the lid and the C02 protects it from spoiling.

Leaving in primary a few days longer is actually good as it allows more sediment to drop out of the mix. The less cack which goes in the keh the better.
