Hi I am planning on doing my 1st AG lager soon could anyone give me a good recipe?
I have these hops n grains so I don't no if I can use them...
Challenger 120g
Giggles 120g
Saaz 35g
Ahtanum 45g
Goldings 55g
Flaked barley 500g
Crushed wheat 500g
I will obviously still need to purchase more malt and yeast
Cheers

Saaz for sure, but you'll need more, although bittering with goldings might work.Brewer wrote:Hi I am planning on doing my 1st AG lager soon could anyone give me a good recipe?

I've never used flaked barley or wheat in a beer like this, but see no reason not to.
The last pilsner I did was very simple: Bestmaltz pilsner malt to 1.049 O G, mittlefrueh hops to 35 IBUs (saaz would work fine), and S-34/70 lager yeast. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I'm just here for the beer.

'giggles'? Are you sure that's a hop and not some other green herby substance?
