I think you will find people buy them due to the price more than anything else. Can the same be said for doom bar?

Pretty much yeah. I haven't bought it in about ten years but when I did it was the cheapest. I'm in Cornwall though so it should be cheap. Also lager down here isn't cheap at all at the pub but people still buy it

To be fair Doom Bar is not that bad a pint, and Tribute is a steady average... I'm just sick and tied of the sight of them,,, they are everywhere!!! Tried propper job at Plymouth beer fest... gopping!!! had more citrus notes than a pint of lime, yuk.

And while I'm on my soap box, I am troubled by the 'designer' beers that are appearing with such monotonous regularity, I suppose in an effort to extend popularity amongst the younger element at the expense of more traditional style ales.

Rant over and box stowed.
