My syphon is being attacked!!!

Hard to see I know, but it's like a growth spreading out from a centre point. Soaked in oxy over night but it's still there slightly, another soak maybe?? Image

As cheap as syphons are........... just get a new one, why risk it.

I'm with 647ozzy. Not worth the risk at a vulnerable stage.

Tubing is difficult to dry completely. I soak in VWP after and before use with plenty of rinsing in cold water. Have also got some stars san so will be using that in addition to the above in future.

It's a proper auto syphon. Surely you can just buy the tube though?

Sure most Home brew shops sell lengths of hose.

Replace the hose and give the rest a good sterilise and clean

Bleach solution will kill 99% of germs, sodium Met will I've had my syphon's over six years and no infection.

But getting a new one now and then doesn't hurt.

After use clean, sanitise and throw it in the freezer, nothing nasty will grow in it.
