I was going to suggest Bramling cross myself as the first recipe I ever formulated was an IPA using Bramling, Goldings and Fuggles.

If you want I can put the recipe up and you can modify to your hearts content!

ESB is a great idea. One of my favourite brews was an ESB. The recipe is below. You may want to up the hops, but it was delicious as is. Could be a starting point?
Yeast used was slightly unusual in that I initially used Neale's ALe Yeast 2 which stuck at about 1.022. I added a packet of US-05 which got it going again and finished it off.
My vote for yeast would be Fullers (WLP002) or Edinburgh (WLP028/WY1728).
Have to say I'm not a fan of Bramling X.

Here is one I like lots...
Based on 19 litres so can scale up or down

5000g Pale Malt,
272.2 g Carapils
195.0 g Caramel/ Dark Crystal Malt -120L 100 brown malt(
45.4 g Goldings, East Kent [5.0%] - First Wort
19.8 g Goldings, East Kent [5.0%] - Boil 10
19.8 g Goldings, East Kent [5.0%] - Boil 5 min

Yeast either WLP o2 or Wyeast 1968 ( esb)

How about some oats for a creamy head, or torri for the same with a slight bite?

This thread started out quite lively, but seems to have died a death rather rapidly. Seemed like a good idea initially, but think it needs someone to coordinate it if it is going to get off the ground.
Perhaps it should be in the Beer Recipes section.

Simple recipe with enormous scope for variance of final product.

Single grain Maris to a 4.5 to 5.5% ABV.
Latter day high alpha single UK hop to 50 to 70 IBU (To be named).
A shed load of aroma and dry hops within ekg, fuggle, bramling X framework
WLP 023 held to 10 to 14 degree window.

Mash temp, hop vols are all up for grabs by the individual brewer on the day.

That to me would be a classic British IPA, in fact i'm going to brew it when i get back from Saudi.

Obviously its called JIPA and sounds almost non pc in the pronunciation (apols to any travelers).

Liking this thread. Jumped on today looking for an English IPA recipe based around MO with EKG and maybe some fuggles.
I've some yeast from several bottles of fullers Bengal lancer to drop in to whatever.
I'm in on this idea - combined minds recipe building.
