fridge thermostat bypass

So just need to bypass my thermostat in my brew fridge so I can remove the thermostat to fit in my FV.

Any help regarding this would be AWSOME!

If the thermostat is still working properly you don't need to remove it.
When not using the fridge for fermentation, with the thermostat intact you can use it as an ordinary fridge
If the FV is too big, maybe a smaller one in diameter but higher........

I currently have a 33 litre FV which I would rather carry on using over a 23 litre one, but the problem is my thermostat is in the way.

Can you maybe just remove the cover and tape any wires showing?

My issue was the thermostat was shafted, so I removed the wires, traced them back to the motor and supply. Replaced with some 4 way mains cable to my stc-1000.
Result was fridge works as "normal" to the temp selected on the stc-1000, the extra wire I used to feed the heater from the stc-1000 o/p.
I only fed L/N/Motor-on to the stc-1000, using the 4th wire for the heater live feed.
Careful if you do this as you are using a Yellow/Green wire (normally Earth) as a switched power (for the heater). Mark it as such to avoid problems later.

What's a compressor board?

The cooling compressor is normally controlled by a relay which is on a small board attached to the compressor assembly.
The mains comes in and is switched via the black control cable through the thermostat.
I bypassed the thermostat and used the STC-1000 to power the control signal (240V) via its cooling relay e.g. when temperature is above setpoint, the cooling relay closes and powers the compressor reducing the temperature.

TBH though, if you struggle with a plug I would suggest finding someone to help. Messing about with mains is not something to joke about.

Which freezer did you go for. A bit off doing this yet but given green light for a big shed so intend on my man cave having a brewing section and a keezer in time. So just wondering how you go about it.
