Kitchen wall taps...

After a long and slightly stressful day yesterday the bulk of my keezer/tap build is complete.

My "brewery" is in a brick outhouse that joins onto the kitchen. A plan was born. A friendly builder removed the bricks for me and I did the rest.

I have only dispensed sanitiser as a test so far but I have 2 shiny crusader kegs in there with 20L of Vienna lager and 20L of NZ IPA carbing up.

Hoping its all carbed up tonight for a full test

Connected the beer lines and had a sample on Wednesday but it was still fairly flat. Flow rate was good though.

I ran the beer lines through copper pipes that run into the keezer. They are insulated outside to the wall in an attempt to keep the lines cold...

That's a smashing clean finish on the plasterwork on the kitchen wall. Very fancy! if ever there was a time for this it's now-

So the taps are mounted straight through the internal surface and and into the box? how's it all braced and streadied up to keep the internal surface static and crack free and the taps well supported?
Are you going to insulate up again into the back of the box to avoid a big cold patch on your wall once you are confindent it is working, or leave it clear for maintenance?

When we first moved in 5 or so years ago we had that part of the kitchen (a little single brick open utility room) framed and skinned with foil backed plasterboard. This made the whole thing much easier. Once through the brick I created that box to fit in and made it thicker at the points where the shanks and drip tray screws would sit until it fit in snug against the plasterboard of the kitchen. I drilled the shank hold from the kitchen side so I would get a clean finish.

It took me ages to figure out all the JG stuff

I can tell you the sizes I got BUT... I got the shanks and taps (and drip tray) from America and a mate brought them over for me. They were 5/8 BSP.

I actually ended up going with the smaller 3/16 beer line but I'd already got the 5/16 JG so bought adapters! I ordered some of the JG parts from the US and got them shipped here as it worked out cheaper.

Rather than removing brickwork, I got an extra long shank that will easily go through the wall (also from Kegworks) and I'm super excited to get this all finished off!

UpTheToon, sorry to try and hijack your thread a little bit, but you may be able to help me out (or any of your readers may.)

I so far have the following
3 ball lock corny kegs on order (£35? couldn't say no!)
1 Perlick flow control tap
1 tap handle from Brew Forge (check them out, they look nice)
1 spare fridge
1 extra long shank assembly ( http://www.kegworks.com/24-wall-shank-assembly )

I know that I need the following
Gas
Gas Regulator
Beer LIne
Gas Line

Could anyone recommend the following
- a good cheap gas reg for 1 keg?
- What beer and gas line do I need? How much of it do I need? what the [censored] is a ball lock?

I've got Sankey gets so I'll let someone else answer about ball locks...

I monitored eBay for a while and picked up a used regulator for about £30. You might be able to find one cheaper or get a new one for about £45.

Beer line... that's where the fun starts!

That's a handy read. Basically you need to factor in how carbonated you want your beer, how far the keg will be from the tap (probably not very), the temperature and about 6 other variables

I went with as short a 3/16 beer line as I could manage (that's the very thin stuff which decreases the pressure very quickly) and it seems to be working well at around 14 PSI. Most people seem to have combo of 3/10 and a small section of 3/16 to reduce the pressure I think.
