Do you use irish moss in extract brews?

Post by simon12 » Tue May 05, 2015 12:19 pm

Just wondered as I have made 2 batches from a gluten free extract the 1st I added irish moss and it came out very clear but as it didn't look like anything had dropped out at the end of the boil so I didn't use it on the second batch which is a bit cloudy (different extract so that could be the reason). So I just wondered is irish moss normally used in extract beers?

Yes, except in dark beers like milds and porters.
