First extract experience

Post by leon103 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 8:23 pm

In the middle of doing my first extract and I think I have [censored] up. Was in a rush to get it started tonight and put too much water in my tea in and it boiled over. I have had to remove a few litres of the ale and I decided to throw it rather than keep it in the Fv. Also my hop bag fell in and emptied. Do you think I can salvage something from this. Plus the hoppy gunk around the top of the urn, should I puah this back into the brew?

Once it has finished put it in the FV, strain it through a sieve to get the bits out.

I wouldn't add water as that will just make it weaker, but you can if you want to it won't do any harm.

Thanks done as stated but add a bit of water. Looks dark for a wheat beer though
