Baby Squid Assassin

Post by Mcbrewer » Sun Mar 13, 2016 3:22 pm

Hi...I brewed this up yesterday and it's bubbling away nicely.Im quite partial to a tin or 3 of brew dogs albino squid assassin and at 7.5% it's quite a strong one so on seeing them publish their recipes I couldn't wait to brew a clone but take the percentage down a couple of points.

I upped the rye malt a bit because the last rye beer I done at 10% grain bill I couldn't really taste it.I used midnight wheat to try get the red colour but it is more like a light brown and I don't know if I've used too much or to try another grain to get the red colour.

I mashed at 64c and fermenting it at 18c
Cheers

It'll be interesting to hear how it turns out compared to the original.
