SA Brains Phonics.....

Post by WalesAles » Wed Mar 30, 2016 8:59 pm

Hello Boys and Girls,
I don`t normally post on here because I am very shy! :D #-o
Had a pint of this in a Brains pub last week, Beautiful Beer (see website).
Emailed Bill Dobson Head Brewer at Brains and he gave me this info......
Brewed with Pale Ale, Amber and Cara Malts,
Challenger for bittering,
Chinook and Dana as late Hops,
Chinook, Dana, Mosaic and Hallertau Blank for dry hopping.
Monkeybrew has made a recipe for me with this info, all the gear arrived from `The Malt Miller` today, Brewday on Saturday! :D
I won`t show the exact recipe yet because me and Monkey haven`t worked out the royalties!

I told Monkey I won`t post this until we had perfected the Brew, but I am too excited and too ELC! :D #-o

Keeping my eye on this. I haven't seen this in pubs since reading the article on Wales Online.

Because a strange force compels you to do it. You are not in control :)

Struggling with this Brew........
When I dry hopped on Sunday, I dropped in the hydro and it was showing 1018.
Gently stirred to try to wake up the yeast, but hydro showing 1016 today.
Any reason why it has not got lower? Due for bottling on thursday but I can wait if needs be.
Fantastic smells from the FV. Just like the pint in the pub! :D

Notty is usually a beast. Likely that it's just done m8. I've give it another couple of days and if it's not moved..... bottle time :)
