Sometimes even brewing has to be put on hold for the greater good

Are you a mind reader?.......................Thats spooky
DaaB wrote:Good luck with this brew. The bad news is i'm guessing you haven't done enough brews to guarantee your going to avoid all disasters, the good news is that every cock-up is another lesson learned which is why I can usually guarantee a trouble free brew day (due to a list of previous cock-ups as long as your arm) As one of my work colleagues used to say 'there's nothing wrong with making a f***up if you know how to get away with it' :P
Well nothing phases me, and SWMBO realises the error of her ways re: moving secondries and FV's.
And seeing as I am starting my brew carer of with a simple setup I am learning little get out of jail free stuff all time, oh and great stuff off the forum.

Well into the boil, in 40 mins I will using my brand new IC, and I have a DaaB flying starter on the go and I will be adding a half a teaspoon of yeast nutrient
DaaB wrote: In my defense for a lazy Sunday, I have cleared the dog mines from the back lawn and the cat mines from the front , cut the grass, spread the weed and feed and had a quick tidy up in the shed...I think I deserve another pint
Yep you deserve a pint and Hector a pat on the head(for keeping the cats out of the back garden)

OK all done and dusted and cleaned down.

I got 15L @ 1,050(target OG) because I was syphoning I lost a extra 1-2L to break material and hops

DaaB your figures from the sparge and boil calcs were perfect, it was just due to my current technique that I didnt hit target volume

I tasted the wort and the BX have a edge to em and the goldings are sitting on top.

DaaBs flying starter was pitched @ 21C room its in is pitch dark and 19C at the moment.

At the moment chuffed :=P All I can hope is the yeast does its gig(S04)

Just stuck my nose in the FV still 2-3inches of yeast a strong CO2 and tasty smell.

DFS is the way forward.

My next brew in the next 7 days I think will be THA so I just need to play with my figures because of loss due to break material and my current crap technique
