Yes they do, unfortunately out of stock at the moment.
Not to worry as I am not in a rush to buy.

Am I right in thinking that the BM mashes against gravity?

Yes it flows upwards against a top filter plate, every so often there is a pump break (pump is off) to let thing settle back down again, then the cycle starts again.simple one wrote:Am I right in thinking that the BM mashes against gravity?

Thanks for the reply. What a weird system (but workable).

Re: BM Sub £300.00?
There are many discussion on what are the benefits of the many different types of system at homebrew level.
The one that crops up mostly is the grist to liquor ratio & what that does to the wort composition.
The 2 systems I own (3V 80/80/150) & (BM50Ex) given a preference on brewday the BM wins everytime, not because I want or indeed need to do step mashes (a rare thing for me) but for ease of use.

Well done on the build. I think your top bar is better than the BM version.
I have a 2015 20l version

The first one pictured is just a piece of square box section, the one used on brewday was from anther build, head space between the Malt Tube and boiler lid is very tight, hence the height reduction mod.

Nice work! How do you find the snazzy alkalinity checker and how much did it cost you?

Re: BM Sub £300.00?
They do the same job as a salifert kit, however I always find Salifert kits a little difficult to read whereas with the Hanna meter I can actually weight the reagent / water sample + digital read out.f00b4r wrote:Nice work! How do you find the snazzy alkalinity checker and how much did it cost you?
The meter itself is around £40 to £60 depending on where you shop
http://www.hannainstruments.co.uk/alkal ... water.html
HOWEVER the reagents are expensive to buy & limited to some 20 odd tests, as my water doesnt really change month in month out, I never check before treatment only after (not that I would recommend this practice).
