Labelling bottles

Post by OldConkerwood » Thu Nov 10, 2016 8:55 pm

I'm supposing labels are equipment!
does anybody label their bottles, I do it for vanity/Information.
I also put the "Born On" date (Budweiser) on my bottled brews, usually the day I brewed, but does anyone use a different date like when fermentation is complete or the day they bottled it etc.
Just interested to see what's going on out there.

I too label all my bottles with Name, ABV, Brew number and brew date. I bought special none permeant tables so they just peal off, and have a template on computer for printing.

I sure do! Name of beer, nice picture, ABV, and "condition until date"- tries to help me stop drinking them all before they've flipping conditioned properly! Colour laser printer on polymer easy-peel labels. I bottle each brew with a different colour cap but trying to remember which is which and when they should be opened is too much like hard work...

Wine, I use neck collars. They're quickly and easily cut from a sheet of A4 - gives 12. I just write on them with a sharpie. And they're readable without removing the bottle from the rack, as they hang down
Beer/cider, I just sharpie something on the cap.

If I want the details, they're on the computer.
It's not pretty, but I'm not putting them in a competition.

I might get some label paper for my printer sometime.
Or I might not.

I label the crates rather than each bottle. I include the name I have given the beer, the ABV and the date bottled

I laser print on plain paper and stick on with milk.

How easily do they come off?

I think mine were cheaper and not waterproof but peel very easy when dry and leave no glue. I'll try to find a link....

I do the same as rpt with name, SG, FG calculated ABV, bottling date - an A4 sheet gives you 65 labels can't see much point in more than that. I'm not a competition enterer.

Not sure where to go with this, as only for personal consumption, so I am happy just writing batch number on the caps at the moment. -"@ th details are in my phone if I feel the need to check the ABV while I am drinking!
