Re: Fermentum Mobile - Polish Liquid Yeast
Given how they don't even know how (therefore why) to streak yeast, I don't think I will be giving them a try.

How can you tell? Is the piccy on the main page wrong? I've never tried streaking yeast myself so wouldt knowMcMullan wrote:Given how they don't even know how (therefore why) to streak yeast, I don't think I will be giving them a try.

I'm a scientist who's been streaking for over 30 yearsMyQul wrote:How can you tell? Is the piccy on the main page wrong? Re: Fermentum Mobile - Polish Liquid Yeast
I just had a look on polish forums about them. The general consensus is that they are ok. Usually more "fruity" than their counterparts but that works well in some styles. If they are cheaper they might be worth a try, if not I'd say stick with tried and tested. I found this comparison table. Their names are strange, even for a polish person, but the codes should be helpful.

Re: Fermentum Mobile - Polish Liquid Yeast
It doesn't strike me as a professional, science based provider of brewer's yeast in liquid format, compared with White Labs and Wyeast. Anyone could knock out slurry. What we are paying extra for when we buy yeast from WL and Wyeast is partly quality assurance to delivery pure, functional strains. This is not as simple as it sounds.
Re: Fermentum Mobile - Polish Liquid Yeast
It's a pity there aren't more british suppliers to the homebrewmarket - I know brewlabs do but I think their slopes put off a lot of brewers from trying them. It's a pity they or Cara Technology or similar haven't got into providing vials or equivalent etc, although I guess there's too much cost involved to make it decent quality and not enough homebrewers to support it

Thanks for the insight. Not being a polish speaker I would't be able to find this ut for myself.Rad wrote:I just had a look on polish forums about them. The general consensus is that they are ok. These yeasts are about the same price as the established liquid yeasts. So I think there more for the HBer who fancied a punt on something a little different (and has the room in their HB budget to do so)

We are really keen to receive feedback on this range of liquid yeast, we will offer some free samples in return for reviews
