Other uses for corny kegs

Post by m_rawdin » Wed Aug 30, 2017 7:35 pm

I was wondering what else is suitable to store in corny kegs, I am going to be making some cider so would corny kegs be OK for cider? Also could you store wine in them too?

It would have to be fizzy wine.

Yes I agree, white or rose....
Done cider a few times with good results... Once used gelatine finings tho and it looked like diesel, it had a strange haze that never went??

The first time I used a cornelius keg, I filled it up with clean water for pressure testing. The wife liked the soda water it turned into so I had to wait a while before I could use it for beer. I lost my patience in the end though and ended up filling some used and cleaned lemonade bottles to enable me to empty the keg.

um anything you want really. wine, cider, lemonade. heck i've filled one with gin and tonic before.

if you want to serve still drinks like red wine or cider it's no problem at all, you just serve with nitrogen gas. needs it's own regulator but after that you can use the same beer line and fittings.

goldthirst, i've now lost at least one keg to soda water! two if i'm not gonna be around to fill it up when empty..
dazzled, doused in gin..
