Jim's Northeast Brewer's Night.

If we're expecting a few people from different locations, Newcastle is probably the most central and easy to access, though either does for me.
I don't do either place on a Friday or Saturday night though - I'm no fan of standing up all night and queuing ages for the bar.

I could do Newcastle depending on when it is as a bit below par at the moment.
Would be good to meet up.

I am based near Durham now and although I don't brew anymore I'd like to chat about beer and brewing. I might take brewing up again, who knows, I don't enjoy the bottling day though...
There is a beer festival in Lanchester soon, I'll be there on Saturday.

Wow, a voice from the past, so you must come along when we get organised, but believe some could well make Lanchester. I'll look at the bus times to see how practical that might be for me.DeGarre wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 11:12 amI am based near Durham now and although I don't brew anymore I'd like to chat about beer and brewing. Spent many a Sunday at The Old Mill for Sunday roast and a few beers, a very pretty part of the country.

Just to move this on, how about 2 weeks time - say the 29th, 30th or 31st May (i.e. Tues, Wed or Thursday)? That's the bank holiday week.

It's highly probable I'll be free then, so count me in.

Looks ok for me as well depending on where it is. I managed a day drinking round the toon on Saturday so as long as I don’t do anything stupid I should be spot on for a night out then.Eric wrote:It's highly probable I'll be free then, so count me in.
Re: Jim's Northeast Brewer's Night.
31st would be spot on for me as its my last day at my current job so I have the Friday off.

Sounding good so far, and Thursday seems like a good idea.
Shall we say somewhere in Newcastle then? I don't get out drinking there much these days, though when I do it's generally the Crown Posada or the Bacchus. I'm sure someone can suggest other venues.

Plenty of venues but Crown Posada is always good, or the upstairs of box social behind the station?Jim wrote:Sounding good so far, and Thursday seems like a good idea.
