Retubing beer font.

Post by greenwood » Tue Oct 09, 2018 7:52 pm

Just got a new beer font (theakston) and there is a small drip behind the tap . Unwound tap to try and push the tube tighter into push fit but there is not enough tube to play with . There is plenty of tube at the bottom of the font but I cant pull it through . I’ve tried to strip it down a little ... but hasn’t helped . Any ideas???

Take out the beer line from the tap and remake the end by cutting it square with a sharp knife/scissors/tube cutter.

You will have to find a way of pulling the pipe through. It went in so it will come out somehow.

Maybe post up a few pictures.

Case solved!!! In case anyone else has this problem . The main trick is you have to feed a new line down the font from the tap end . Problem with this font was it is packed with polystyrene at the bottom which wouldn’t budge and needed drastic attack to mole through to fish the line out .Image. Cheers!
