Increasing the ABV post ferment

Post by Verno » Sat Mar 30, 2019 10:07 pm

So I had a bit of a disaster last weekend, my boiler died halfway through, I chilled and fermented the beer anyway but I think it’s only 2.6% due to too much water in the mash and not enough boil.

Either way a 2.6% beer isn’t my ideal choice ( especially as it’s an Elvis juice clone ie 6.5% target). Are there any options to increase the ABV? I was wondering if I could just add something if like vodka without much flavour but no idea how much to add or if that would ruin the beer. I would rather have a weak beer that tasted or beer.

Any ideas?

Is it packaged? It’s not unreasonable to add DME and get it to a more respectable 3.5% or so. I wouldn’t add vodka in a weak beer, the profile is probably too delicate plus its expensive.
Tbh a 2.6% elvis juice sounds like a great patio beer to me.
You could also brew a 6%ish beer and blend them in the glass.

Well I was considering a new one as I have had it a while and this was the final push I needed.
