Unusual cider

Post by Rookie » Mon Apr 08, 2019 6:29 pm

A couple of years ago I brewed a coconut cider.
I'm just here for the beer.

Rookie,
I saw this post on Monday and thought `Yea, where is the rest of this post`?
Was it nice?
Was it clear?
Would you do it again?
Did it taste coconutttttyyyyyyyy?
What was the recipe?

Coconut Stout is nice.

I did a three gallon batch: one gallon of opal juice, one gallon of honeycrisp juice, and one gallon of pink lady juice and S-05.
Once fermentation was done I added a pound and a half of unsweetened dried coconut.
I bottled at the three week mark with a couple of ounces of cane sugar.
It came out kind of cloudy but very tasty. The coconut was there but subtle.
I don't do cider often, but would do it again if I can find the large chunks of coconut where I'm now living: the small shreds are a pain in the arse.
I'm just here for the beer.
