It needs testing on all platforms and any feedback would be very helpful.

Here is a preview of the application:

it holds very close to Graham's original plan.

I don't know how welcome this information will be, but I want to share someone's work here.
A guy 'jimbob88', I have encountered on the Internet is trying to continue Graham's software legacy. He has produced a very creditable cross-platform version of Graham's Beer Engine, which he has called Wheelers-Wort-Works.
It is still in development and I'm sure he would appreciate comments and suggestions, bearing in mind that he is trying to keep it as straight forward and simple to use as was originally intended.

It is available at:

https://github.com/jimbob88/wheelers-wort-works

and is called 'Wheelers-Wort-Works'.

I'm sure Graham would be pleased with his efforts and I hope you too will find it useful and interesting.

I just found this new front page at:

https://jimbob88.github.io/wheelers-wort-works/

as I mentioned above it is still in development
Does this mean it will run on Mac? I had to look up Python and I see that it comes preinstalled and runs natively on OS X . That would be great and I’ll try it out. I’ve never been able to use Graham’s Beer Engine because I don’t use Windows.
Not out of the box as it is built with Python 3 rather than the installed 2.7.x but I have opened an issue at Github about updating the wiki, some Mac OS graphical glitches on buttons text and to see if the author is prepared to package the releases as an .app. There are also programs that would allow him to produce fully cross platform apps, including for IOS/Android but I have no idea how good these are and if the author would be interested in doing this.

On Mac OS:

Forgive my ignorance but should this run on a standard windows 10 machine or does something else need installing first?

Cheers. Tom

The instructions for installing on Windows are at
https://github.com/jimbob88/wheelers-wo ... Wort-Works

If you have questions ask here or post as a 'New Issue' on

https://github.com/jimbob88/wheelers-wort-works/issues

I hope that gets you sorted

Did that but just got

cx_Freeze:Python error in main script

With a load of text underneath. Top line reads

Traceback (most recent call last):

Then details a python36 folder that should be in my program files directory, but isn't. That's why I was asking if python needs installing before this would work or if the required code was either built into windows or part of the downloaded package

Cheers. Tom

Got it going.

Simply moved the sub folder out of the extracted one and all seems well

I got the same the first time I clicked on the exe (also had a windows message to confirm running an unknown app). Second time it ran properly.

Got a couple of issues so I'll log them on Jimbob's site rather than bogging this thread down.
Does seem to work well though =D>

I'm sure your issues will get prompt attention.
Jimbob will be pleased to deal with them, outline the problem and name your operating system when you report.

Hi everybody, I am the creator of Wheeler's Wort Works and as well as the current version have been developing a web-based edition :D, and I was thinking of choosing how to host it but to know if it is worth investing in hosting it I have created a poll, I would be thankful if you replied so I can know whether or not to start hosting it!
